The University of Manchester run a number of
distance learning courses at Jodrell bank Observatory. The
Introduction to Radio Astronomy course is a taster module with the option to visit Jodrell Bank and make observations of the galaxy and pulsars using some of their telescopes.

The visit takes palce over a weekend, with a behind the scenes tour, not normally open to the public. To many, me included, it was a chance to fulfill a childhood dream. The course itself can be used as a 10 CAT point module for further study. I am using it as part of my astronomy studies at
UCLAN, which has the possibility of leading to a degree.
